TwisterData.com is developed and maintained by storm chasers and meteorologists David Demko and Donald Giuliano. Don and Dave share a deep passion for weather
and meteorology, and began chasing storms together at the University of Oklahoma in 2000.
As avid storm chasers and weather watchers, we make extensive use of internet weather data websites. Our goal was to create a website that gets out of the
way of the user, allowing them to focus on the data. We hope we have succeeded and plan on continually improving and enhancing the website's user
experience. To learn more about the website's features, please read through our brief
tutorial.
We have no plans to charge for basic weather model output data and graphics. Instead, we expect advertisements and sponsored video content to cover the cost
of leasing the dedicated server used to generate this website. Some future content may require a subscription, such as personalized plots, archived data
retrieval, or other value-added products. However, these are simply examples as we have no plans to implement these features at this time.
The TwisterData.com website is currently programmed to display NCEP's RAP, NAM, and GFS models. Beyond that, future plans include adding additional functionality,
running a custom WRF model, and expanding to include real-time observational data.
